Natural Horsemanship
Understanding Each Other through Horse Behavior and Communication

I love the term "Natural Horsemanship"... especially when it is being used in its purest sense. Working with horses can be the most natural, empowering, and heart-opening experience in the world. Natural horsemanship should be focused on safety, comfort, communication, quality, and understanding between two extremely perceptive and intelligent beings.
My goal as a natural horsemanship instructor and horse trainer is to help humans better understand how horses think, feel, and interact as well as help horses understand how to be better prepared for a very foreign human world - to be confident, connected, and thoughtful partners for humans in their world.
Owning, handling, and riding horses can be fun and exciting. It can also be scary and downright dangerous. Our horse industry is a funny entity; you can find opinions about just about everyone and everything. It's enough to make your head spin!
I want to help you and your horse with a simple, clear, and empowering approach to learning. Relationships are built on trust, communication, and time. I am here to invest in your learning and in helping you and your horse succeed.
I am a fully licensed Parelli Natural Horsemanship Instructor and Horse Development Specialist. I have studied with Pat and Linda Parelli directly for several years and have been lucky to study with Linda Parelli, in particular, in the past few years as she has developed the Finesse Training Sequence and Precision Box. I have also had the honor to study with several other incredible natural horseman such as Trevor Carter, Bill Robertson, John and Kathy Baar, and Linda Green (to mention just a few! - see resume below for more details). I have had experience in natural horsemanship from a young age, riding horses in the Rocky Mountains as a kid and growing up in ranching country. My family has run a natural boarding facility since 2000, and my approach to teaching and horse training has always been one of seeking understanding, being a calm and confident leader, and looking for common ground.
I can teach you privately - one on one - with goal setting, success coaching, and horse psychology part of every lesson. I can also teach groups, workshops, and up to four day clinics of up to ten people.
My approach to horse training is a little different - I want the owner involved every step of the way. You learn to progress your horse and understand what and how your horse has been trained. Both you and your horse are winners because you get to progress your skills while your horse is learning. This sets both of you up for success in the long term.
